| Circle Possession Game |

Exercise Objectives: This is a great game for producing quality passing techniques under pressure. The game can swiftly shift from 6 v 3 to 3 v 1.
Field Preparation 10 Players (7 v 3) Circle approximately 20 yards in diameter. Supply of Balls and Cones Colored Bibs
Coaching Pointers: Place six cones equally distance around the circle perimeter. Place one player between each cone. These players are restricted to moving on the line and in between theirs cones. Position one receiver and three defenders inside the circle. The object is for the seven player to maintain possession of the ball and achieve 10 consecutive passes. Start with unlimited touch then develop to “two touch, then “one touch” passing. If the defenders win the ball the must try and keep the ball away from the center player. If they get 8 passes they score a point.

| Quick Decisions When Passing |

Exercise Objectives: This drill will improve the speed of each players decision making when passing the ball.
Field Preparation Four players Area 10 yards x 10 yards Cones 2 balls
Coaching Pointers: Four players are positioned within a grid (3 attackers + 1 defender). The three players must try to keep possession from the defender using 2 balls. The three players in possession may move anywhere within the grid. The defenders goal is to "tag" (not tackle) the players in possession. The defender can be identified by using a colored vest or by having them hold a cone. Once a player is tagged by the defender they switch roles. A goal is scored for every ten passes the attackers can make.

| Speed Work - Fast Feet |

Exercise Objectives: This drill will help improve both the quickness of the player's decision making and their foot reactions.
Field Preparation Area 20 yards x 20 yards Entire team Supply of Balls Cones and Flag Poles
Coaching Pointers: The player starts the drill by jogging slowly in place, between the 3 balls. On the partners command, the player touches the top of the ball with the sole of the foot as quickly as possible. The challenge is for the player not only to perform the drill quickly, but also select the correct ball. The partner calls out series of commands for the player to perform. If the partner calls out "Three" the player must touch ball #3. If the partner calls out "Queen" the player must touch ball labeled Queen etc.

| 6 v 6 Thinking Game |

Exercise Objectives: This practice is deigned to encourage players to think and react quickly. Quick decision making is vital in this exercise.
Field Preparation 12 Players (6v6) Area 30 yards x 30 Yards Supply of Balls and Cones

Coaching Pointers: Play 6v6 in the square. Identify each team by using different colored bibs. Perform the following exercises in this sequence during the game.

Both teams have a ball each; pass the ball in a “one touch – two touch” sequence. The passer must remind the receiver how many touches they have.

Both teams have 2 balls each; pass the ball free play.

| Shoot and Defend Drill |

Exercise Objectives: This is one of those practices that players love to do. Its high tempo, fun and develops both offensive and defensive skills.
Field Preparation Two groups of players positioned approximately 30 yards from the goal. Area 30 yards x 30 yards Cones, Flags Supply of balls
Coaching Pointers: Divide your team into two groups. The first player in group "A" dribbles the ball forward and shoots at goal. Immediately after shooting the ball he must defend against the first player in group "B". When the attack ends, the player from group "A" returns to his group and the player from group "B" now defends against the next player in group "A". This sequence is repeated throughout the drill.

| Crash the Goal |

Exercise Objectives: This is a great warm activity that players love. It immediately sets a fun and competitive tone to your practice session. The drill places players and goalkeepers under challenging situations to win aerial balls.
Field Preparation Entire Group with Goalkeeper Full Size Goals Area 15 yards x 15 Yards Supply of Balls and Cones Five Colored Bibs
Coaching Pointers: Place 2 goals approximately 15 yards apart. Two teams are inside the square. Identify each team using colored bibs. The object is to score a goal with a header or volley. The drill starts with one player serving the ball to his team from the side cone. The ball must be thrown in with pace. His team must crash the goal and try to score with a header or volley. After the attack the ball is turned over the opposite team to serve. Team can serve from any side. This is a fun activity using a lot of players. If Goalkeeper catches to ball he can throw is at the opposite goal to try and score.
Focus On: Attack the ball aggressively. Quality heading and volleying technique. Challenging for the ball.

| 3 v 3 Plus 2 Directional To Goals |

Exercise Objectives: This practice is great transition game that rapidly turns 3 v 3 into a 5 v 3 attacking situation. Emphasis is placed on quick counter attack and containing attacks when playing with number down. Fun work for the goalkeepers also!
Field Preparation 8 Players (3 v 3 plus 2) Area 20 yards x 20 Yards Supply of Balls, Cones, Bibs Full Size Goals
Coaching Pointers: The practice is directional towards goal. Play 3 v 3 on the field, whichever team has possession has the extra two players. The five attacking players must try and score a goal. First team to score 5 goals wins. Players should start with unlimited touches then conditioned to "two" and "one" touch.Balls out over the end line are thrown back into play by the goalkeeper.
Focus on: Attacking with Width. Quick exchange of passes. Quick Counter Attacks
